About the Event
How did Rashi become so popular?
Rabbi Shlomo Ishaki (b. 1040 - d. 1105) was a medieval French community leader, scholar, and the most recognized Torah commentator in history.
Let's journey to his hometown of Troyes, and follow in his footsteps. We will learn more about his time and place, and about his commentary.
Finally, we will learn about the role his commentary plays in the printing revolution, as it impacted the access and availability of Jewish books. This story sheds light on the so-called "Rashi Script".
Schedule is listed in Israeli Time.
