About the Event

Embark on a thrilling journey to Ancient Judea under the Seleucid Syrian Greeks!

Young adventurers embark on a riveting exploration of historical events that shaped the festival of Hanukkah. Travel back to ancient Judea, where the Seleucid Syrian Greeks sought dominance, sparking a courageous resistance by the Maccabees. Through captivating storytelling, children witness the heroic battles, delve into the miraculous stories of the oil that lasted eight days, and understand the significance of the Hanukkah lights.

The class also delves into the cultural exchange between Greek and Jewish civilizations during this pivotal time. Kids explore ancient coins that served as witnesses to historical events, shedding light on the fascinating intersections of these rich cultures. By the end of this class, young historians will emerge with a deeper understanding of the Maccabean revolt, the miracles of Hanukkah, and the enduring legacy of courage and resilience.
