Tu Bishvat is celebrated today with planting trees and eating dried fruit. But 4,000 years ago in Sumer it was celebrated as a holiday that has surprising connections to the Jewish calendar.
This is the 7th Hebrew-speaking meeting for home school kids in Israel. Previous virtual tours include: Ancient Egypt and mythology, translation of the Torah into Greek (Septuagint), the Pharos and Library of Alexandria; Avraham's Journey and the cultures of the Ancient Near East; Rashi's life, script, commentary and the printing press.
All of the previous meetings have been recorded and edited, and can ordered.
Join me on this special series of Homeschool tours for kids, ages 7-12, on an adventure that recurrs every 1-2 weeks on Tuesdays mornings, 10:00 Israel Time. Sign up is possible through this site or via Bit/Paybox with a payment of ₪45.
